About Emily
My name is Emily and I live in Houston, Texas with my husband and puppy named Molly! I received my bachelor's and master's degree in music education with a focus in secondary choral and general music from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and have 10 years of music teaching experience. My teaching focuses on my student's strengths and reasons for learning through music while ensuring that students are taught from a personalized curriculum that brings them closer to their goals while emphasizing the music fundamentals that will prepare and enrich them for life. I am passionate about piano, voice, choir, music theory and reading, and music education. I believe I can engage any curious or dedicated student with this mix of perspectives and experiences. I work with students 5 years old to adults.

I tailor lessons to each student’s individual goals, strengths, and areas for improvement ensuring that they receive targeted instruction that meets their unique needs whether or not you read music! Students gain a more comprehensive understanding of music. Students will benefit from knowledge of breath control, tone production, posture, build strong foundational skills in sight-reading, rhythm, and coordination. My lessons ensure progressive development, from beginner skills to more advanced musical pieces. My approach encourages creativity and artistic expression. Students can explore different musical styles, express themselves through music, and improve their ability to convey emotions through performance. I guide in preparing for recitals, auditions, and performances. Whether it’s fine-tuning a vocal performance or preparing a piano piece, I offer valuable insights into stage presence and expression.
