About Stuart
New Zealand born Stuart is a queer identifying actor, director and reviewer working predominantly in musical theatre with a passion for authentic storytelling, reimagined classics and queer representation within theatre.
Stuart has been acting and directing for past fifteen years. He studied at the National Academy of Singing and Drama Arts (NASDA) and owned and operated his own theatre company Speakeasy Theatre Ltd. in New Zealand who produced the New Zealand premiere of the original Zanna, Don’t! in 2013. Moving to the UK in 2014, Stuart joined Centre Stage in 2016 and directed their sell-out productions of Fame: The Musical and Grease The Musical. Recently Stuart directed the four star production of cult favourite The Toxic Avenger The Musical for Festoon Theatre Company, a non-professional London based company dedicated to diverse and non-traditional casting. This production was voted best amateur production of 2022 by MusicalTheatreMusings. He is a West End critic, reviewing for West End Wilma and directs for various professional and amateur companies around London.
