About Shirley
I’ve been a lawyer in France for the past 6 years, heading my own firm. I practiced civil law, family law, and injury law. Lawyers in France study for eight years and write extensively, which is why I have a perfect mastery of French grammar and spelling. In addition to my legal practice, I taught and trained students for their college exams and the bar exam. I have been teaching/tutoring students for 6 years. Being a teacher for students struggling in their studies was a revelation to me. I’ve never felt more useful than when a student told me they had passed their exam. Additionally, as a lawyer practicing family law, I developed a strong sense of empathy. I am very patient and a good listener. When I moved to NYC in the summer of 2023, I already knew that I wanted to continue teaching and make it my primary occupation. Being a mom for three years has also sparked in me the desire to teach young children. I am currently in training to obtain the diploma of French teacher (DAEFLE).

I introduce students to French customs, traditions, and everyday life through various cultural activities and discussions. Supportive Learning Environment: I create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My goal is to build their confidence and foster a lifelong love for the French language.
