About Farah
ENGLISH: I am a 20-year-old cégep student in Québec, currently in the process of getting my cégep diploma. I have been fluent in English since middle school (secondaire 2 in Québec) and have been a straight A student in the subject since. I enjoy reading and watching shows in English, which helps me greatly in perfecting the language every day, and I’m excited to be able to share this passion with others. My goal is to help my students enjoy learning English as much as I do! FRANÇAIS: Je suis une étudiante de 20 ans au cégep, présentement en train de compléter mon diplôme. Je parle couramment anglais depuis le secondaire 2 et j’ai toujours obtenu d’excellentes notes dans cette matière. J’aime lire et regarder des séries en anglais, ce qui m’aide à perfectionner la langue chaque jour, et je suis ravie de pouvoir partager cette passion avec d’autres. Mon objectif est d’aider mes élèves à apprécier l’apprentissage de l’anglais autant que moi!

ENGLISH: - First class is free and will be a trial run to assess your level in reading, writing and oral, as well as figuring out your preferred learning method and what to focus on. - I will start by using homework as study material, or create my own exercises if there is none, depending on the student's needs. - Depending on the student's level, the class will either be taught fully in English, explaining words they don't understand with English synonyms, or in French with as much English as possible to help with learning. - Depending on the student's workload and homework, I may give English homework after tutoring session to keep track of the progress. - I read a lot of books in English and can provide PDF or EPUB copies of certain short stories (free of charge), to help with reading comprehension and short essay writing (which I will correct outside of our tutoring session, and then review together in the next one). - Targeted for middle school & high school, cégep (Québec), and collège & lycée (France) students. FRENCH: - Le premier cours est gratuit et servira d’essai afin d’évaluer votre niveau en lecture, en écriture et à l’oral, ainsi que de déterminer la méthode d’apprentissage préférée de l'étudiant, et les points sur lesquels se concentrer. - Je commencerai par utiliser les devoirs comme support d’étude, ou je créerai mes propres exercices s’il n’y en a pas, en fonction des besoins de l’élève. - Selon le niveau de l’élève, le cours sera donné entièrement en anglais (en expliquant les mots incompris par des synonymes anglais), ou en français avec autant d’anglais que possible pour faciliter l’apprentissage. - En fonction de la charge de travail et des devoirs de l’élève, je pourrai donner des exercices supplémentaires en anglais après la séance de tutorat afin de suivre la progression. - Je lis beaucoup de livres en anglais et peux fournir gratuitement des copies PDF ou EPUB de certaines nouvelles, pour aider à la compréhension écrite et à la rédaction de courts essais (que je corrigerai en dehors de la séance de tutorat, afin d’y revenir ensemble à la suivante). - Destiné aux élèves du secondaire, du cégep (Québec), ainsi qu’aux collégiens et lycéens (France).
