About Nicole

I am originally from Colombia, my first language being Spanish, and although I went through many hardships, in my first year of being in the United States I took the STAAR (also known as the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) and passed with a score higher than the district had ever seen. I know all about the struggles that come with learning, fear of others' opinions, and the frustration that comes with not understanding something so I want to be someone you can count on to lift you up without fear and frustration. As a senior in high school, I know all about putting hard work, love, and patience into projects and I want to help other students implement their own values and strategies that will help them succeed on their own in the future.

About the lesson

As a native speaker, I know how to make new students sound more native, pronounciate better, and have improved vocabulary that will definitely be helpful in the future. I know learning a new language is hard, as I have been learning french for the past 6 years, but just stick with me, hard work pays off. I make concrete lesson plans, depending on students learning methods. I speak slowly and concisely for new students and I can make more challenging lessons depending on a student's level.

Nicole has always been the brightest kid bringing positivity wherever she goes. She tutored my 4th grade son as well as many others in our neighborhood. He was frustrated and falling behind on many subjects but her enthusiastic energy and amazing help has helped him succeed to so many levels. He is now in 6th grade and using all the tricks she taught him!
