About Vi
- I am a Vietnamese native speaker and fluent English speaker. I have lived in Saigon, Vietnam for 18 years and studied in public Vietnamese schools for 12 years.
=> I am well-immersed with both the Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture, and I can teach you many things beyond just the language!
- I have tutored my friends and relatives for many years in a variety of subjects ranging from science to languages. As a result, they all met their academics goals/received a high grade in that subject when studying with me!
=> I know the struggles that students usually face, and I will make sure that I address them properly to make your learning experiences enjoyable :)
- I have years of experience volunteering with different student and external organizations from Vietnam to Canada. I also have 2 years of work experience in Canada in retail and school's library.

Hi! My name is Vi Nguyen, I'm a 4th-year UBC student, and I am a Vietnamese native speaker from Saigon! Here are my methods of teaching Vietnamese:
- The lessons will be offered on Zoom.
- Textbook: Sách Giáo Khoa Lớp 1-Lớp 12 từ Bộ Giáo Dục và Đào Tạo (Vietnamese Textbook Grade 1-Grade 12 from the Ministry of Education and Training)
=> The national textbook that every Vietnamese student studies in Vietnamese public schools from grade 1 to grade 12! I will teach you based on this textbook, and trust me, you will know how to read almost everything after the first book!
- Conversation-based approach: besides teaching off the textbook, I will also make learning fun by integrating games and discussing different topics in Vietnamese in every class!
