About Sophia
I am currently studying Neuroscience BSc at the University of Nottingham, with a strong academic background in maths and science and am aspiring to pursue postgraduate medicine in the future. I achieved grade 8s in GCSE biology, chemistry, and physics, and use this experience to help students understand exactly what is needed to succeed. I am patient, approachable, and explain complex ideas in a clear and effective way. I also hold an Enhanced DBS check.

I specialise in helping GCSE students improve their grades in maths and science through clear, structured teaching. My approach focuses on building strong understanding first, then applying it through exam-style questions to develop confidence and achieve higher marks.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs, whether that’s closing gaps in knowledge, improving exam technique, or working towards top grades. I keep explanations simple and focused, and make sure students practise throughout the session.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include teaching, worked examples, and guided practice.
I teach GCSE maths, biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as KS3 maths and science. I support a range of abilities, from students aiming to pass to those working towards top grades.
