Norfolk - Music Theory lessons with a teacher of over 30 years experience

I had lessons on the violin while I was at school. Mathew was a fun teacher, and I remember him as always smiling. I made some really good progress with him, so he must have been a great teacher!

Mathew was a really great violin teacher. He taught me throughout my school years, and lessons with him were one of the highlights if my week. Anyone who learns with him is a very lucky person!

Mathew gave me violin lessons for about seven years while I was at school. He took me through grade eight and beyond. He was a fun teacher, and certainly knew what he was doing to achieve the best out of all the students he taught. I still play my violin regularly, and owe that to Mathew.

I began violin lessons with Mathew as an adult beginner a number of years ago. Due to his excellent teaching, my progress was both fast and fulfilling. Since moving away, I have not yet found a teacher of his calibre to continue learning with!

My three children all had lessons with Mathew, at some stage in tgeir musical development. With each, he managed to select the most appropriate style for their learning and managed to ignite enthusiasm for playing their instrument. He also encouraged them to attend local ensembles, and in doing so, gave them performance and social opportunities they would otherwise possibly have never experienced. From our experiences, he was a person who has a generous and caring nature, was highly empathetic to an individuals needs, and a thoroughly nice teacher to be taught by.

Mathew proved to be a patient and inspiring teacher for my son, particularly the more difficult teenage years. My son is now an adult, and music is still a big part of his life, all thanks to Mathew!

I had viola lessons for a number of years with Mathew. The lessons were always fun, well prepared, and gave me motivation to keep improving my playing. I would recommend Mathew highly as a viola teacher!

Mathew was a patient and understanding teacher, who adapted his teaching style very much according to my needs. As a result, my playing and confidence in my ability both improved enormously!

Mathew is a wonderful musician and very passionate about his teaching. He’s also encouraging, which is vital in musical education.

Mathew taught my son violin, initially when he started at age 5, he encouraged him to try the viola too, and taught him in both instruments on and off for 10 years, he was fabulous with my son, and my son still plays both instruments now aged 20. I believe this is down to Mathews fantastic teaching, so patient, kind and encouraging, constantly.
I would definitely recommend him as one of the best teachers my son had in his musical journey.
