About Eva
I have many years of experience teaching - children, young people and adults.
At the moment I live in London where I teach Norwegian and Swedish at the University of Westminster and City Lit London, (equivalent of Voksenopplæringen in Norway). At present most of the teaching is online.
I also teach privately and for Teacher Trainer, and have students from all over the world. The subjects I teach are Norwegian, Swedish, English and Acting Techniques.
In addition to this I teach science and drama at Primary and Secondary Schools in London.
Before I moved to London four years ago, I was for nine years Head of Drama and Director at Ålesund Kulturskole and also taught Creative Communication at Ålesund Kunstfagskole.
From 2010-2015 I was Artistic Director at Barneteateret Vårt, department for Children and Young People, Teatret Vårt.
I trained at Scandinavian Theatre School in Copenhagen and Royal Academy in London and work for many years as a freelance actor, within theatre, film and TV.
I also write stories for children and young people and have just finished writing a new children’s book.

I always have a conversation with a new student before I set up a learning plan.
That way I can find out what level the student is at, what they want to achieve during the lessons, and what their preferred way of learning is. After this, it is much easier to create a plan tailored to each individual student.
I work according to a structured plan and try to create a safe and inspiring learning environment with varied teaching, so the student does not get bored or lose their motivation.
I am enthusiastic, patient and motivating and perhaps most important of all - I love teaching and genuinely want my students to succeed.
It is fantastic to see students developing their skills and see them express themselves with growing confidence in Norwegian. Being part of this process is probably the greatest thing about being a teacher.
