About James
I am a former college student that has applied to Russel group universities in the coming year. I am a recently new tutor who knows the struggle for current students to achieve their aspirations for GCSEs and A levels, with the hope of attending their dream universities. Being part of the unfortunate corona virus year, its apparent that sometimes the base education isn't enough for many students to reach their academic potential.
I achieved As (or 8-9) grades consistently throughout school and college, and having these experiences fresh in my mind i believe a have the necessary skills to help others in their pursuits. Id say my skills are especially centered around helping people maintain large amounts of academic knowledge, with an attention to essay writing and the wording of your arguments.

Id describe my teaching method as an alternative to traditional schooling you'll already be receiving. It will complement your existing studies and hopefully give you the edge over the other students in your class.
In practice, ill involve a sort of lecturing technique on subjects and modules. Ill look to have effective communication and debates between myself and the student, specifically on how to apply your knowledge to writing and essay questions. Before lessons ill construct an efficient lesson plan, involving exam style questions, while guiding and helping through the process. I know this technique can be tiring (it was for me) so ill intersperse this with actual in depth looks at subjects and topics. I'm very passionate about the subjects I'm offering to tutor, and i hope to make them generally interesting for the student so they can think about their own future in academia.
