About Dominic
I am a dedicated, energetic and very hard-working educator with an optimistic and ambitious creative output. I am committed to instilling confidence within students of any ability, approaching each lesson with a very open-minded attitude.
I have toured extensively across the UK with my jazz quintet at venues such as Ronnie Scott's. In 2020, I was nominated for a Parliamentary Jazz award and was also a semi-finalist in the renowned Zbigniew Seifert International Jazz Violin Competition.
I currently teach at Chetham's School of Music and have recently given masterclasses at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. I have coached chamber music groups at the Yehudi Menuhin School and have also been an instrumental / musicianship / composition tutor at Aldeburgh Young Musicians (Britten Pears Arts) based at Snape Matings. I have over 7 years experience in teaching 1-1 lessons from beginner to advanced level.

My teaching is based on the principals of the Suzuki method in which violin technique, aural training, playing in tune and producing a beautiful sound are integral parts of the training. I am dedicated to ensuring that my students build on these firm foundations, resulting in solid development and swift progress.
In addition to classical violin lessons, I teach jazz violin lessons and improvisation. In these lessons I focus on the three core elements of music - melody, harmony and rhythm, as well as exploring essential jazz repertoire.
I teach both 30mins and hour long lessons and I teach students of all ages and all levels.
