About Joyce
My name is Joyce Salazar and I teach Brazilian Portuguese. I have over a decade of full time language teaching experience across all age groups from kindergarten to adults and all levels of proficiency, from beginner to advanced. I have an Undergraduate degree in Modern Languages focused on Portuguese and English and a Master’s degree in Languages and Cultural Practises. I am a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker and also teach beginner Spanish as well as beginner and intermediary English as a foreign language.

All lessons are conducted online via video (Zoom, Google Classroom, Skype, etc) using the structural approach to teach grammar with an emphasis on the core skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking applied to real-world contexts. Lessons are highly interactive, designed so that students do most of the talking and to minimise use of the mother tongue so that students can maximise their practise and learning in each session. We can follow a predefined course, or tailor the lessons to your needs.

Hi, I'm a student of teacher Joyce, during her classes I saw how dedicated this teacher can be to her students, always showing herself to be a caring and calm person who knows how to deal with the subject of classes in a cohesive and direct way without getting a very heavy class, super I recommend her.
Joyce is my english teacher since 2019 and after that three years the only thing I can do is thanks she for all care and sympathy involved in her classes. She is a really superprof!
