About Gareth
Hello! My name is Gareth, thanks to come and visit my profile! I am from Cambridgeshire in England and I have been based in France for 16 years.
I have always had to learn new languages and adapt to a new country since leaving my home country.
So therefore, I have my own learning techniques which I can pass on to my students.
Normally I am working as a Marine Engineer on a sailing yacht, however right now I am based in Indonesia and working online during this time.
I have completed a TESOL 120hr course which is certified to teach English internationally.
I highly rate conversation as a great way of progressing in a new language.
From my own experience, mastering conversation has helped me progress in a new language by raising my confidence to articulate words correctly through use of trial and error.

My teaching style is very relaxed. I am extremely patient, and I speak slowly and clearly to help my students understand when I am talking.
In my classes I often go to websites and encourage students to read aloud an article for 10minutes.
It's a strong exercise because you will read perfect grammatical sentences with perfect structure. Speaking aloud and reading is a great way to learn new vocabulary and improve pronunciation.
I am comfortable to converse and aid students in business topics, as I have previously worked in customer service, administration and hosted presentations.
I have good experience helping students prepare for any up and coming exams such as B1 to C2 level. IELTS, CAE, TOEFL and PTE.
