About Justine
Hi everyone! I’m Justine, a French MPhil student in Development Studies at Oxford.
I consider myself a bit of an adventurer at heart. I love staying active, between kickboxing, squash, and running. Travelling has officially become an addiction for me! I used to play the drums and guitar, and I bring that exact mix of high energy, rhythm, and patience to my teaching.
Whether we’re discussing global development, music, or comparing travel stories, I love a good conversation.

I believe that language learning happens best in a warm, supportive, and relaxed atmosphere where student and teacher communicate as equals.
I completely understand how intimidating it can be to speak in a language that isn't your own, I’ve been there! But I also know that actively speaking is the single most effective way to make real progress.
In my classes, speaking is central, and mistakes are celebrated. Mistakes aren't failures or things to feel embarrassed about—they are natural stepping stones to fluency.
My background includes tutoring and teaching two primary school classes in China, where I discovered the importance of truly meeting students where they are. Having worked with learners aged 7 to 17, I know how to adapt my style to suit any age or skill level so every student feels supported.
