About Rose
As a current student I know better than anyone else how tricky these languages can be and which techniques are most efficient to increase understanding and therefore genuine enjoyment.
Regular practice of vocab compiled from the Oxford University examinations handbook, grammar and syntax explained concisely and clearly, as well as continual one-on-one practice of unseen translations are just some of my teaching methods.
I myself am passionate about the subject and love studying it at Oxford; I hope to encourage the same passion in my students alongside an understanding of the particular difficulties of the languages.
I can go through set texts on the literature side of the GCSE and A Level syllabus explaining the language as well as going through points of analysis for essays.
I am also really happy to do Oxbridge entrance exam and interview prep; going through useful points of discussion for the interview and reading through and helping to edit your personal statement for the best results!

Oxford Classics Tutor – Latin & Ancient Greek: GCSE, A Level and beyond.
I am a student at Oxford University studying Classics, offering tutoring for GCSE & A Level. I have experience helping GCSE Latin students through unseen translations, vocabulary, syntax, and grammar.
Lessons online via Zoom.
I also teach set texts, having studied many in depth at university, with a focus on language, structure, and meaning. I aim to build not just grades, but genuine enjoyment—developing strong critical analysis and deep linguistic understanding.
I believe a friendly, supportive tutor-student relationship is key. Having recently completed these exams successfully, I offer clear, up-to-date guidance, including Oxbridge interview assistance as well as help with the Oxford entrance exams.
Qualifications: Grade 9 in GCSE Latin, A* at A Level. Ancient Greek studied at Oxford with world-class tutors.
To really enjoy Classics; the literature, philosophy and history, you have to know the language and I hope for all my students to feel the same.
