About JOey
Joey began her classical piano training at a young age and piano has been her best friend ever since. She participated in many performances opportunities and competitions during her teenage years, and during that time she also completed Grade 8 with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Grade 8 music theory with Trinity College, as well as Yamaha Electone Grade 6.
She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy form Curtin University, she is a qualified Australian registered pharmacist. As her passion in piano study and pedagogy continued to grow, Joey continued her musical pursue by studying The Associate in Music, Australia (AMusA) now.
Teaching piano is Joey’s passion. Joey is an innovative and imaginative teacher; she is continuously looking for fun and creative ways to teach musical concepts to young minds, as well as challenging them to meet achievable musical goals. She teaches students of all levels, covering all elements of music learning: rhythm, technique exercises, sight-reading, theory of music and a broad range of repertoire.
Joey strongly believes in life-long learning and keep developing herself by attending Piano Pedagogy workshops and trainings. She believes that students will get better if the teacher gets better.

My teaching method is based on the students age and level. I would normally like to use Alfred book for the young beginners and for students who like to attend for examination, I am experience in AMEB and ABRSM syllabus.
