About Matilde

My name is Matilde, and I was born and raised in Colombia, where Spanish is not only my first language but also an essential part of my identity. Growing up surrounded by its culture and traditions, I developed a deep appreciation for the richness and beauty of the language. As a native speaker, I bring both authenticity and clarity to my lessons, helping students understand Spanish in a way that feels natural and engaging. I am patient, supportive, and committed to adapting my teaching style to each student’s needs. My goal is to inspire confidence, make learning enjoyable, and guide you toward real fluency.

About the lesson

Hola, my name is Matilde, and Spanish is my first language. I was born and raised in a Spanish-speaking country, which allows me to teach not only the language but also the culture behind it. My approach as a tutor is to make Spanish practical, engaging, and accessible, no matter your current level. A typical lesson begins with conversation practice to build fluency and confidence, followed by grammar or vocabulary explained in simple, clear steps. I like to use real-life examples, reading exercises, and short writing activities so students can see how Spanish works in everyday situations. Each lesson ends with a quick review and practice tasks to reinforce learning. What sets me apart is that I teach from the perspective of a native speaker who understands the beauty and subtleties of the language. I emphasize pronunciation, cultural context, and natural expression, helping students go beyond textbook Spanish. My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, or adult learners who want to improve their Spanish for class, travel, or personal growth. Whether you are just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I adapt each session to your needs and goals.

Best tutor ever. She always checks on me and is available at almost any time. She makes sure that I get the topics right and fully understand before moving on, always with the opportunity to go back to ask questions.
