• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  Ever since I was in grade school, I was always drawn to English or creative writing classes for the simple reason that it allowed me the ability to express myself and to think deeply. Having majored in Communications and Psychology, I knew I had a knack for writing and decided to give back by teaching.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  I love the quiet of tuning out the world and tuning into a piece of writing when I'm in a flow state. Through practice, I have been able to develop a system to ensure my writing is well thought out, and expresses exactly what I mean to say. I love teaching this to my students and helping them to convey their thoughts effectively.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  It's incredibly rewarding to realize that you can make a difference in someone's life by simply passing along knowledge. I love seeing improvement in my student's and watching their confidence grow as their skills improve.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  Absolutely! Mrs. Cho and Mrs. N – it's incredible the impact that a positive teacher can have on your confidence and learning.

• What are your keys to success?

  To show up, to keep working on something even if it seems difficult. For whatever I'm trying to accomplish, a huge part of it I recognize is showing up regardless of how I feel. It's important to stay consistent and to bet on yourself.
