About Mitchell
I'm Mitchell! I started playing percussion about 12 years ago, and it has been my life's passion ever since. I recently graduated from the Manhattan School of Music, and now reside in Eugene, Oregon, where I am pursuing my master's degree in music performance from the University of Oregon. I have played with several professional groups such as the Eugene Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Next (Eugene Ballet). In addition to performing, I am equally passionate about teaching others in a fun and supportive way.
I have two years of private teaching experience, with students ranging in age from elementary school up to high school. I also have taught on many occasions in a group setting with students ranging from elementary school to college age. Many of these group classes were done in a masterclass format.

I am excited about the prospect of reaching more students to help them grow as musicians! I believe that the most productive learning environment is one in which the student is engaged, encouraged, and challenged in a way that is right for them. This is always my goal as a teacher.
I encourage people of any age or ability level to reach out if you are interested in hearing more, or would like to schedule a lesson. I am open to helping students with any goals they may have- whether they are preparing for a competitive audition, or just looking for an enjoyable music-making experience!
