Sam was a 6th form student at the school I work at. Whilst at school Sam took part in a Maths mentoring scheme at the local primary school. One of the students at the primary school happened to be my son. Sam's knowledge of Maths and the style in which he taught was very easy to understand, my son excelled at Maths throughout his tuition. Sam is very friendly and reliable. He puts all his students at ease and is very patient with them. My son is now taking Maths at A-Level and I am sure that the time he spent with Sam really helped his knowledge and love of the subject.

I have known Sam since he joined our BSc in Mechanical Design and Engineering in 2015 and ultimately supervised his final year dissertation for which he was awarded 80%, a mark rarely given on this programme. He achieved a 1st in all his other final year subjects and was in the top 5% of his cohort. I remember him as a very bright and very hard working individual with considerable potential which he was able to demonstrate during a placement year with Schneider International where his very impressive contribution lead to local and regional rewards.

I met Sam at university and we instantly clicked. His humour and intelligence made me feel welcomed and comfortable in any conversation we had. His love of musical theatre makes him a friendly and confident person, and his love of sport brings out his desire for achievement and healthy competitiveness.

I regularly say to him ‘every time we speak I learn something new from you’, be it a silly anecdote or valuable knowledge. I know that Sam is passionate about helping others and great at adapting to people’s needs - which is why I would recommend him to everyone!
