About Caitlyn
Hi there! My name is Caitlyn, and I'm a recently graduated Ph.D. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of North Texas. I've been tutoring since 2014, and for the five years I was pursuing my Ph.D., I was also teaching college English courses (College Writing, American Literature, Intro to Creative Writing, and Beginning Poetry). Experience has taught me that I'm most passionate about working one on one with students on their writing. I know how personal and difficult writing can be, and I find that taking time to understand where each individual student is at makes my guidance, feedback, and advice more effective and useful. In addition to my Ph.D., I received an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College in 2019, and a BA in Classics and Humanities from Valparaiso University in 2017. My poems have been published in various journals in the US and in Canada, and I have been working as a ghostwriter for both established and up and coming authors since 2017. Above all else, I'm a writer, and I've learned a number of ways to use that skill across a variety of industries, genres, and jobs. It's my goal to pass what I've learned on to you, and that you leave our time together a more confident, more precise, and more effective writer.
