My rates differ depending on the subject being taught and the level at which it is taught. They reflect the amount of preparation and follow-up time required for each session:

Academic English/ELA and writing for middle school, high school, college, and adult students: $35/hr.

AP Psychology, college psychology, and research or thesis/dissertation writing: $45/hr.

Follow-up summaries (included): Following each session, the student or family will receive a written summary of what was covered during the session, any assignments the student is to work on for the next tutorial, and plans for the next meeting.

As a self-employed tutor, I pay 15% in income taxes, have a business license, and spend time outside of each tutorial session on preparation, review, and sometimes purchasing appropriate materials for use with each student. These costs are factored into my tutoring rate. However, I do my best to keep my fees as affordable for students as possible, and they are competitive with those set by tutors with similar graduate degrees and teaching experience. Tutoring is not just a side job for me; it is my vocation and primary source of income. I love what I do and there is nothing that fulfills me more than helping others learn.
