About Kate
I'm Kate, a PhD Candidate and Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Liverpool Law School. I am also a Research Assistant at the Centre for People's Justice (based at Liverpool) and a Research Associate at the Constitution Society. I completed my LLB from the University of Liverpool and my LLM from the University of Cambridge. Prior to entering academia, I trained as a barrister and worked in legal practice for a number of years. I have been teaching since I began my PhD, 4+yrs ago, and love being in a classroom with students! Any additional support needed, I would be happy to provide. My academic background is based in constitutional law, but I have taught across a broad range of undergraduate modules - including Criminal Law, Criminal Evidence and Public Law. I also have knowledge and experience in marking exam scripts, so I understand exactly what undergraduate examiners are looking for.

My sessions are aimed at undergraduate LLB students, at any institution, who feel as though they need additional support in learning course material ahead of undergraduate examinations. I am willing and able to advise on course content as well as examination technique. I have expertise in and experience of advising on both the 'problem question' and 'essay question' elements of law examinations. I am also able to provide support and advice to those undergraduate students completing dissertations. Typically, my tutoring sessions last 1hr and are conducted over Zoom, but can be extended by arrangement. Students are welcome to provide me with course material/mock questions in advance that can be worked through during the session. I am also able to provide support to LLM students who are specialising in Criminal Law/Public Law/International Public Law or Human Rights based courses.
