About Sherry
I hold a PhD in gender and cultural studies from The University of Sydney. I have been working as a sessional academic at the University of Sydney. I also have over 5 years of experience teaching Mandarin. My students, who have different levels of Mandarin learning, are from various cultural backgrounds, including international students, senior leaders of Foreign companies, staffs working in the US consulate etc,.

The core of my teaching is interaction. I believe that teaching is an interactive process. Students would gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject much more effectively by interacting with the instructor. Normally, I will first give a brief overview of the topic and a detailed explaination of important concepts. Students are encouraged to engage in critical thinking/discussions/activities to further the knowlege afterwards.
