About Shane
My teaching methodology for Piano is centred around compassion, creativity, and flexibility, ensuring every student feels supported, motivated, and inspired. I believe that learning music should be an enjoyable and meaningful experience, so I focus on understanding each student’s strengths, challenges, and personal goals. By creating a positive and encouraging environment, I help students build confidence while exploring their unique musical expression and developing a strong foundation in both performance and theory. I use real-life examples and case studies to make lessons practical and relatable. By connecting music theory and technique to actual pieces and compositions, students can see how their learning applies in real-world musical contexts. This approach not only deepens understanding but also encourages curiosity and creativity. Lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive, allowing students to experiment, improvise, and discover their own musical voice while progressing steadily toward their goals. Flexibility and accountability are key pillars of my teaching. I adapt lessons to match each student’s pace and style, ensuring they remain comfortable and motivated. At the same time, I encourage students to take responsibility for their learning by setting achievable goals, practising consistently, and tracking their progress. In addition to Piano, I can also teach related subjects such as music theory and composition, helping students gain a well-rounded understanding of music and develop skills that last a lifetime.

With over 3 years of teaching and performance experience, I have dedicated my career to helping students of all ages discover the joy and power of Piano music. My journey began with a simple love for the instrument and a deep desire to share that passion with others. Over the years, I have worked with students from school to college level, guiding them through every step of their musical growth from understanding basic techniques to performing with confidence. Teaching for me is more than instruction; it is about inspiring creativity, building discipline, and nurturing a lifelong love for music. One of my proudest milestones as a tutor has been seeing my students achieve their personal goals, whether performing their first piece in front of an audience or composing their own short melodies. I believe every student has a unique voice, and my role is to help them express it through the Piano. My lessons combine practical exercises, musical theory, and creative exploration, making each session both structured and enjoyable. I strive to create a learning space where students feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of their progress. My passion for education comes from a belief that music has the power to transform lives. As an educator, I focus on patience, encouragement, and adaptability to meet each learner’s needs.
