About Fabricia
I am a native Portuguese speaker. I have a degree in Portuguese Language and Literature. Main topics studied include Latin and Portuguese language, linguistic studies, Brazilian and Portuguese Literature, Educational Policies, Sign Language and Literature for children and adolescents. I also have a degree in History. Main topics studied include Brazilian history, history of the Americas, modern and contemporary history and educational psychology.
I work as a Portuguese teacher privately and for several language schools, having experience with one-to-one and group lessons; beginners, intermediate, advanced and proficiency levels, present tuition and online tuition via Skype; teaching children from the age of 2; general training and Portuguese for business purposes.

I have been teaching Portuguese for 20 years, which included creating programmes, material and a wide variety of activities suited to different student’s profile.
As a native Portuguese speaker, I have teaching experience at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I also teach business Portuguese (insurance, banking, technology businesses), General Training or Traveling purposes.

My technique is very different. I don't use the same lessons for all of my students. I believe that everyone is different and unique, so my lessons are specific to you necessities and need. You can also tell where you want to be better, we can just do one area, like speaking, listening, pronunciation...or we can do all!!
I spend a lot of time with my students, I will not treat you like a number (like many schools) but like my students!!

Over the last decade, I have developed and fine-tuned an extremely effective method of teaching Portuguese, which I call the Direct Method. This method is built on an awareness of the unique way each student learns a language. From this basis, and using the large range of material I have gathered, I create a course that has within it an important balance between Structure and Practical Experience.
Most importantly, I incorporate into my lessons elements of the Portuguesespeaking countries culture which I feel are essential for a proficient grasp of the language and encourage my students to attend a wide variety of free events connected to the culture aspects from Portugal, Brazil and other Portuguese speaking countries around the world.
With my lessons you will be building the language and constantly practicing what you learn, as all the interactions in the lessons will be in Portuguese, even grammar clarifications. You will be taken gently to a total immersion in the language.

I design Portuguese SKYPE lessons in which you can decide what you want to learn or you can ask me where I feel you need improvement. I am a native qualified Portuguese teacher with 20 years of experience teaching students of all levels from Beginners to Advanced. Most students' lessons cover general Portuguese Speaking practice and Pronunciation but if you have a specific topic in mind, upcoming travel plans for example, we would tailor the lessons to those needs.
