About Thamis
I have a degree in Portuguese Language and a Master’s in Applied Linguistics from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Since 2014, I’ve been teaching Portuguese as a foreign language — this is my main area of teaching, research, and study. From 2021 to 2025, I worked as a Portuguese language and Brazilian culture professor at a university in Tokyo, teaching Japanese students.

In my classes, we use Portuguese in real, everyday situations. I work with authentic texts from Brazilian life and culture, helping you learn the language in a natural and meaningful way. I also have experience developing teaching materials and designing courses for specific purposes, which means I always create and/or adapt lessons and materials according to each student's goals.
