About Jamil
Hello! I'm Jamil! An MA graduate from UCL/LSE, my academic background is in intellectual history. Its a great discipline because alongside history, philosophy and political theory, it allows me to cover literature, music, religion and even learn new languages!
I have an incredibly broad general knowledge, and this is probably the defining feature of my sessions. It gives me the ability to easily find points of connection and interest for students, and to help tutor a variety of subjects or modules at the same time.
I love teaching- I've delayed completing a PhD because I particularly enjoy the fact that at the moment I can teach medieval history, the cold war, political science Shakespeare, philosophy, and economics in the same day!
I'm also a keen musician. As well as teaching music I try to bring my broader interests and pursuits, such as art and poetry into the sessions- as well as touching upon other hobbies such as football, chess and cooking!

I offer personalised lessons for students of all ages and abilities! Experience tutoring all major exam board and with bachelors and masters students from universities across the UK.
Creating a specific plan for each student, I focus on consolidating an understanding of the key concepts/material, and an easy to use plan/structure for relevant questions.
I have a wealth of resources and strategies built up over the last decade- including timelines, maps, flashcards, and content summaries.
I'm available for one-off, weekly, and more regular sessions. I also work as a teacher for students who need a more intense programme, want to learn a or are resitting!
I specialise in helping students aiming for the very top grades- with reviews and references on demand!
