About Chef
When asked to share about myself and experience I often take the modest route and simply say, “I love food and that’s all it takes to be a good cook”. This deflection, while true, doesn’t highlight my extensive culinary work.
I started my culinary career as a line cook around age 20. I worked in casual dining, chain restaurants and cafes, ending at fine dining, all the while working my way up to Garde Manger and Sous Chef. Ask me about a Baltimore cafe or restaurant, and I either worked there or had friends that did!
After many years in professional kitchens, I moved towards food production and catering.
Over the years, I’ve served institutions like Baltimore Center Stage, The National Parks Service, and Morgan State University!
I’ve worked in university dining, retreats for over 275, month-long summer camps, as a travel and private chef. A wide array but I love the adventure! In 2023, I transitioned to Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager, and Culinary operations consulting. The past 2 years have led me to discover my love for teaching and I want to share that with you!
And now?
I am the founder and Executive Chef of Serviceberry Labor Collective. My team and I created a worker-owned cooperative catering and food service company. As EC, I have the privilege of leading my amazing team into the battle of food service. It’s safe to say, I love everything food related. So in addition to lessons, I’m happy to impart any culinary info you’d like to learn. Can’t wait!

Food and cooking are some of the most basic biological needs, innate to every human (and animal!!!) on earth. Cooking and preparing food are ancient arts through which we can connect to the earth and each other while incorporating care for our bodies and local food producers. As a chef, I have the privilege of alchemizing simple ingredients into love letters on a plate, every day. It’s such a joy and I want to share the magic with you. With me, you’ll explore technique and presentation alongside history and culture. It’s the perfect recipe for a well-rounded cook and culinary creator. Can’t wait to work with you.
