About Jacky

With over ten years of concert experience and hundreds of performances as a solo guitarist, band musician, and session guitarist, I've had the opportunity to gather diverse musical experiences and develop my own unique approach to music. Even as a teenager, I traveled to countless concerts, especially within the acoustic guitar scene. There, I was fortunate enough to meet some of the most influential guitarists of our time, who inspired me and supported me on my musical journey. At 18, I participated in international guitar competitions and played my first tour in the UK, including a concert at the London Guitar Show and the Shamabala Festival. In the following years, I performed on numerous stages as a guitarist and dedicated myself intensively to my musical development. To deepen my knowledge and broaden my musical horizons, I studied at the Cologne University of Music. There, I was able to fully embrace my passion for music and gain new perspectives on my instrument. Among others, I learned from legendary musicians such as Bluegrass legend Mike Marshall, Big Band composer Florian Ross, and Jazz Guitarist Frank Haunschild. Even after graduating, my musical journey has never stopped. On my own journeys of discovery, I've had the privilege of playing with street musicians in North Carolina, exchanging ideas with guitarists in Rwanda, and experiencing traditional Thai instruments firsthand in rice paddies. In New York City, I met my guitar hero, played at festivals in Northern Ireland, performed in front of 10,000 people in a stadium in Munich, and repeatedly witnessed how diverse yet universal music can be in connecting people. Today, I'm excited to share all these experiences, encounters, and inspirations. I want to ignite a passion for music and show people the doors it can open, how it allows us to discover new worlds, and how much joy, expression, and connection it holds. Because for me, music is far more than learning an instrument. It's a lifelong journey of discovery.

My lessons aim to foster your passion for music, deepen your musical understanding, and above all, strengthen your enjoyment of playing. It's important to me that you leave each lesson inspired, with new ideas, impulses, and suggestions to further your musical journey. Lessons are suitable for all skill levels, from absolute beginners to advanced guitarists. A particular focus of my work is Modern Fingerstyle. Through lessons with some of the most renowned guitarists of our time, including Mike Dawes, Jon Gomm, Thomas Leeb, and Don Ross, I've gained invaluable insights and experience that I'm eager to share with you. My university education also allows me to explain musical and theoretical concepts. I'm especially committed to a solid playing technique, a beautiful, expressive tone, and a musical approach that gives you the space to develop your own style. We'd be happy to work together on repertoire that excites you and aligns with your interests. We're stylistically open to all genres: whether folk, bluegrass, fingerstyle, Irish music, jazz, neo-soul, or singer-songwriter. Together we'll find pieces and approaches that suit you and your musical goals. I also love guiding beginners on their journey. Especially in the beginning, it's important to me to teach sound playing technique and lay the foundation for a positive, curious, and lasting relationship with music. Because technique shouldn't just function, but should help you express yourself musically freely and bring your own ideas to life.
