About Charlie
Hello!
I currently teach at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) on the BA (Hons) Creative Music Production course. I began my music life making tea and occasionally sound engineering at Matrix Studios in London’s West End, before stints doing the same at the Strongrooms in Shoreditch and Sphere Studios, Battersea.
Having cut my teeth at those prestigious London Studios, I was now making the best tea in London, and my engineering skills were decent too, which led to my feeling that the time was right to take the plunge and set up solo, whilst continuing my musical education with a Masters at London College Of Music, where I met to-be bandmate Owen Taylor. We formed 'The Operators' and were signed to B-Unique management in 2008.
I continued to expand my horizons, in co-forming Electro – Grunge duo Bluebell with Annabel Jones. Whilst being an active member of these bands, I also co-wrote and produced tracks for some of the top young talent in the UK including Saint Raymond, Gabrielle Aplin, Orla Gartland, Lawrence Fox, Cameron Bloomfield, Ralfy, Nym etc...
