About Liam
Over the years I have worked in various studios including world renowned music studio ‘Soundtree Music’. Here I was mentored by award winning sound designers and composers, and assisted in recording sessions with notable actors such as Martin Freeman and Mark Strong. My expertise now lie in music composition and sound design for advertising, film and video games. I am currently working as a director and composer at ‘the Soundery’. I like to take a collaborative and adaptable approach to my lessons. I will be working alongside you to develop your music projects, and ensure that you are no longer tied down by the technical restrictions of your ideas. While my expertise lie in Logic Pro X and Protools, the techniques and ideologies are translatable to any DAW. I will share all of my personal techniques in production and mixing that I’ve developed in the last 8 years of professional work, and help you through some of the biggest misconceptions in music such as synthetic sound design, compression, and mastering. Being a professional composer and co-director of a notable audio company, I’m able to provide practice tasks based on a real projects that I tackled in the past, offering you a unique opportunity to work with professional audio stems, mix pages and templates as a practical way of applying your skills in a professional context. For those looking to work in music or sound for moving image, I offer specialised lessons in critical listening, finding clientele, and developing a professional workflow to launch your career as a music composer / sound designer.
