Hi there, I'm Jack, a professional session player, composer, music producer and teacher. I regularly gig in London (or wherever the work takes me!), and have been for about 15 years, as well as teaching in schools as a freelancer. Having recently bought my own place in Streatham (SW16), I've been able to set up a studio here, so can offer lessons from home or online, but also open to in-home tuition, depending on location.
Please note that while the platform states I offer 30 mins free for the first lesson (a default over which I have no control), I'll do you one better, and offer the second entirely on the house.
I'm fully DBS-cleared, and, of course, able to provide references. Just let me know what you need, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Lessons with me aren't your standard fare.
The first thing we'll do is establish what music you're into, what styles you'd like to play in, and explore the ways of learning that work for you, not for me.
I don't have a specific template, and no 2 clients will ever have the same lesson. What you'll get from me is exclusive and bespoke tuition.
Like many musicians, I have an understanding and empathy for neurodivergence, as well as extensive personal and professional experience working with it!
My prices are low because this is what I do, I'm honoured to call it my work, and I want to help others achieve the same.
Whether you've never picked up a pair of sticks, or you've just played a headline slot at KOKO (an experience I recommend to anyone), I'll have something new to teach you on drums.
I was self-taught for many years before studying them, giving me the professional techniques to employ and impart, but also a flexibility and understanding of alternative ways to approach them.
So whether you'd like lessons, have questions, or even just need a spot of free advice, please step right in, I'd love to hear from you!
A couple Ts & Cs:
1. While I don't offer 'trial sessions', I'm confident enough from my recurring client history that the 2nd lesson is completely free.
2. I kindly ask that all clients pay for the next lesson a week in advance, ideally after the end of each session. This is just to avoid last minute cancellations, as otherwise I lose money from that lesson, but also money from other work I would have booked in had I not been keeping the slot free. However, with 48hrs+ notice, I'll always be happy to reschedule for another time that week, and if not feasible, then that payment will just carry over to the next.

Perfect! can’t recommend Jack highly enough - he’s been teaching my 10yo neurodivergent son drums, and I’m now learning piano too!! we tried several different tutors before, and no-one was able to recognise Azaiah’s learning needs. from the 1st lesson, he tapped into how to engage with Azaiah emotionally, and each week he cant wait to learn more, and has improved at a crazy rate. was so impressed with his methods decided to pick up piano again myself for the first time in years and have also rediscovered my desire to learn and play music. hes patient, encouraging, always enthusiastic, and no matter what me and Azaiah’s energy levels are like, we both always leave Jack’s on a real buzz! Perfect! Jack is an exemplary drum teacher with a kind and considered approach to the student he is teaching. Our son immediately took to him - recognising Jack’s ease and patience. We are impressed with Jack’s passion to ensure the 101 fundamentals of drumming are understood very early on. It’s been a pleasure to see our son confidently name the different drums and play back the rhythms Jack has been teaching him. Every week he looks forward to the session and continues to show interest in music.
Perfect! My son had no experience playing the drums or keys prior but he's loving the instrument as Jack is very patient, kind and welcoming. Jack is great with beginners from my experience. Even if you're not a beginner he's the tutor for you.

Jack is a really warm and friendly drum tutor. He understands your needs, level of abilities and takes care to tailor make the lesson for you.
