I’ve known of him since I was a child. My older sisters had the opportunity to experience his mentorship before I did, and I remember how much they looked up to him and admired his teaching.

Growing up, I never imagined that I would eventually experience his mentorship firsthand. Now that I am the one being trained by him, I finally understand why my sisters admired him so much.

If teaching has a face, I believe he is the few of those who make teaching look like a beacon of inspiration. He has taught me that music is not an easy road - that only the brave, disciplined and passionate can tread. German made someone as rough around the edges as me into a silk purse in the field of choral singing. Still getting there, but he helped me get there. His teaching style involves empathy and directness- things that are usually lost in the technicality of music theory and such. And with such honesty, you are motivated to finding who you really are as a choral singer.
