About Daniel
I have an undergraduate degree from Indiana University and a master's from University of Georgia, both in trumpet performance. Studied with former 30+ year principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic, Philip Smith. Hold positions in several regional orchestras throughout the Midwest.
I have been teaching for over thirteen years in the Chicago area and have had students in the ILMEA All State honor band as well as in top youth orchestras in the region.
My experience on the trumpet is extensive and eclectic. Lessons can be tailored to the musical interests of each student.

My teaching method is focused on building healthy playing habits through technical practice and then integrating those techniques into music. Sound and musicality are my main points of focus and I push all my students to prioritize both in everything they play. Singing and ear training also play a large role in my instruction.
