About Dylan
Hello, I'm Dylan! I first began in music when I was 5 years old and started taking piano lessons, and my life has been music from then on! I have studied voice with teachers of many different styles, focusing on classical and musical theatre. I took my first step towards teaching when I was 16 and became Assistant Music Director of a production of Carmen. I fell in love with music directing, and have been working on productions ever since! Previous credits include, but are certainly not limited to: Into The Woods, The Last Five Years, and A Gentleman's Guide To Love And Murder.
I am incredibly proud of many of my students for becoming working professionals in theatre; several former students moved to Toronto, where they are all performing and singing successfully. Other students consistently audition and receive roles here in Greater Vancouver. Still others have no desire to perform in front of people, but would rather be able to sing in the shower, and I am just as proud of them!
I studied at the University of Northern British Columbia, and during that time, I learned to prioritize vocal health and individuality. I celebrate my students and hope to help them love music in the way that I do!

Musical theatre is my home when it comes to music, but I have experience with everything from jazz to rock to pop, and have taught students from ages 6 to 70! Previous students have spanned a huge range in terms of vocal experience, from complete beginners to studying opera. I am friendly and approachable, and adapt my teaching technique according to what your voice needs.
A typical lesson with me will include a 20-30 minute warm-up full of exercises to address your individual vocal needs, and the rest of the time is spent working on specific repertoire! Lessons are offered as in-person at my home in North Vancouver, or as virtual over Zoom, as the student needs.
