About Mateu
Musicologist and music journalist, I'm a jazz teacher at CEU San Pablo University. My specialty is based on helping the student to make contact with his instrument and build his skills. I have been a multi-instrumentalist since I was young and I have won several awards in pop, ska, rock, jazz and reggae bands. I like to conceive my classes in a holistic way: a development of the individual's musical and artistic personality, to explore his truth as a human with a creative instinct. Beyond the chords is magic.

My teaching method draws on musicology, musical psychology and interpretive technique to explore the creative force so unique that each willing individual is home to. Specialized in beginners, my role is to stimulate and accompany each student's own abilities, who must follow their artistic tastes to outline their creative personality constructed from the genuine. When you interpret from your own truth it is irremediably fascinating. My classes are 60 minutes set based on the needs of each person and their instrument. In these we see knowledge about sound, composition, improvisation, interpretation, solfege (appropriate to the needs), and technique and care of the instrument. If you are a beginner do not hesitate, here you will discover your energy to start with your passion. All ages.

Mateu me acompaña en mi camino como cantante latino. Juntos trabajamos en la la composición de mis canciones, también tenemos momentos de "coaching" que derivan en conversaciones y reflexiones necesarias. Una manera original de trabajar con un cantante autodidacta como yo. Tras muchos años de cambios de proyectos en banda,ouedo decir que desde hace tres años trabajamos en mi carrera como solista. Recomendado!
Mateu es un músico versátil y sensible que se vuelca en los demás, eso hace de él un gran profesor del que aprender mucho.
Gran músico y mejor profesor, amable, paciente, didáctico y divertido. Sus clases son muy amenas y altamente motivadoras. Para todos los niveles. Incluso para personas como yo que empezaron con él sin ningún conocimiento musical previo.
Muy recomendable!!!Las clases de guitarra de Mateu se adaptan muy bien a mis necesidades. ... sabe empatizar muy bien con lo que busco. Quería profundizar más en géneros como jazz, funk y armonía general y siento que cada clase me ayuda a ser mejor músico.
