About Ana
I hold a Qualified Teaching Status and a PhD in Composition from The University of York, UK. I have three degrees in Piano, Music Theory and Chamber Music. I have obtained postgraduates in Musicology and Composition at King's College London. I have 25 years of experience, teaching piano and composition lessons to the highest standard in several institutions. I teach children and adult at any level.

Piano students learn at their own pace, mixing technique exercises, favourite tunes, classical repertoire and music theory.
With children and young students, I work on general musicianship, Kodaly hands singing and rhythm patterns, plus specific piano methods, focusing on technique, creativity and repertoire.
With adult students I mix technique exercises, favourite tunes, classical repertoire and music theory. Creativity is key for any musician, therefore, along with the piano skills, I introduce the students to the basics of composition and improvisation.
I prepare students for their ABRSM and Trinity theory exams and support them with their harmony, analysis and composition lessons at any level. I have experience teaching pupils from the University of Leeds, University of York, from other countries such as Peru and Spain, and preparing entry exams for EEUU universities.
