About Seán
I am a qualified post-primary teacher specializing in Irish and Geography. I am passionate about the Irish language and regularly visit the Gaeltacht to maintain and develop my fluency. I have experience correcting examinations, giving me valuable insight into exam expectations and marking schemes. Example of a Leaving Certificate Lesson: A typical one-hour lesson may include:
=> 20 minutes – Oral work: 5 cheist, léamh na filíochta, an comhrá, sraith pictiúr amháin.
=> 20 minutes – Listening/Reading comprehension work: Focused practice with question vocabulary and answer techniques.
=> 20 minutes – Literature/Essay work: Reviewing student answers, improving vocabulary and phrases, practising past questions and revising key notes.
My Irish lessons are tailored specifically to the Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate examinations, with a strong focus on:
=> Exam technique and time management
=> Understanding marking schemes
=> Developing strong written answers
=> Improving listening and oral skills
=> Learning useful vocabulary and phrases
=> Maximising marks in each section of the exam

Sean gave lessons to my daughter, who was very successful in her exams last year. Without Sean's help, she definitely would not have passed.
