About Oliver
I’m a qualified science teacher with a particular passion for helping students succeed in GCSE Biology and Chemistry, whether they’re studying Combined Science or Triple Science. I currently work at an Ofsted outstanding-rated school in Cambridgeshire, where I am Second in Charge of the Science Department. Alongside teaching, I am also a GCSE examiner for AQA, which has given me a strong understanding of what exam boards are looking for and how students can improve their exam technique to gain those crucial extra marks. I enjoy building students’ confidence and tailoring lessons to their individual needs. Whether a student is aiming to strengthen their understanding of key topics, improve their exam skills, or achieve the highest grades, I work hard to make lessons engaging, supportive and effective.

As a qualified Science Teacher, Assistant Head of Science and AQA GCSE Examiner, I provide engaging, personalised tuition in GCSE Biology and Chemistry for both Combined and Triple Science students, as well as KS3 students. Every lesson is tailored to each student's needs, whether they are building confidence, strengthening subject knowledge or aiming for top grades.
My lessons are interactive and varied, using exam-style questions, visual explanations, quizzes, discussion and targeted practice to make learning enjoyable and effective. As an AQA examiner, I help students develop the exam techniques and subject knowledge needed to maximise marks.
I create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and challenge themselves. The typical length of a lesson is an hour but this is flexible, and I am happy to answer any questions or arrange an initial meeting to ensure I am the right tutor for your needs.
