About Shaaista
I am a Speech, Language Therapist and Second Language English teacher with a Bachelors Degree in Speech Therapy and Audiology as well as my TEFL Certification. I have 14 years teaching experience working with learners of different levels between the ages of 3 years - 17 years. I have a wide experience in terms of teaching English from Pronunciation/Articulation, Vocabulary, Phonics, Reading, Writing, Comprehension to Speaking/Conversational English Skills.

I have a patient and understanding yet fun and energetic teaching style. During my lessons I use a combination of reading, writing, listening and speaking techniques as I believe this provides holistic learning for the learner as well as better learning outcomes. My lessons are based on the learners individual needs and are planned according to the learners language learning needs and levels. I use total physical response, flashcards, worksheets, books, realia, pictures, games, singing, videos and conversation/free talk during my sessions to assist with engaged language learning for the learner. Homework will also be provided where required to assist with carry over of concepts taught during lessons. I believe that everyone can learn with Fun! My wish and aim is for my students to achieve their greatest potentials.
