About CARYS
I have 20 years experience of playing piano and 6 years of teaching, which includes my time as a secondary school music teacher. I enjoy teaching a variety of musical styles - I am a classically trained musician but I also love video game and film music. I have a 100% pass rate with ABRSM exams and offer a lot of support and guidance throughout this process.
I have a warm and patient approach with my students, and I always help them to feel more confident with both their ability to perform and with their musical knowledge.

Hello!
My name is Carys and I am a friendly, passionate music teacher based in Newcastle with a specialism in piano and music theory.
My qualifications include:
-ABRSM Grade 8 piano
-LCME Grade 8 music theory
-BA(Hons) in Music
-MMus
-PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status
I have experience with all ages from 4-60 years old. I’m committed to supporting every student no matter what level they are at, and I have a lot of experience working with students with additional needs and disabilities (especially ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and visual impairments).
My lessons range from a minimum of 30 minutes up to 90 minutes depending on the level and age of my students.
I am classically trained musician but I also love video games and film music. I have 100% pass rate with all exam boards.
