About Puneetha
Hi! I'm Puneetha, a recent alum of Rice University (Houston, TX) where I majored in Neuroscience on the pre-medical track. As an incoming medical student, I can provide SAT tutoring (SAT Math, SAT Reading, and SAT Writing) and high school and college STEM tutoring, as I have experience in upper-level high school and undergraduate level courses, including Organic Chemistry 1 &2 and Biochemistry 1.
I also find joy in tutoring other students, having done so for 5-10 years. My first tutoring experience as a Master Teacher for iEducate was an incredibly influential experience: I co-taught a classroom of elementary students in math, science, and robotics and fell in love with the impact of effective teaching, as I watched children’s faces light up as they grasped a new concept and walked away feeling more confident in themselves. Since then, as an IB Diploma holder, having completed subjects in IB Biology HL, IB Chemistry HL, IB Mathematics HL, IB Economics HL, IB Spanish B SL, and IB English A: Literature SL, I have done private tutoring in pre-IB and IB subjects. In college, I continued to tutor and mentor students: I was a Rice University Peer Academic advisor, helping my peers with pre-med and neuroscience-major related course planning and mentoring. I was also a Biochemistry 1 Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Rice, having completed nearly a year in this position.

As a tutor, I implement a highly-individualized teaching strategy and lesson plan. I discuss with students prior to our first lesson what they'd like to cover during our session. With previous students, I have reviewed and retaught class lecture slides to reinforce and clarify concepts as well as given and worked through practice questions. I tailor the lesson based on the needs of the student.
I primarily work with high school students on AP/IB biology, math (geometry, pre-cal, calculus), and SAT prep. I also give lessons to college students and post-grad students on Biochemistry 1.
