About Sumit

Hi!

I'm a professional Social Science educator with extensive classroom experience teaching History, Political Science, Geography, and Civics — subjects that form the core of AP World History and AP Comparative Government & Politics.

I have taught hundreds of students across different learning levels, helping them break down complex historical narratives, understand global political systems, and develop sharp analytical thinking. My teaching style is structured, engaging, and fully adapted to the College Board AP curriculum and exam format.

What makes me different:
I don't just teach content — I teach you how to think critically and write like a top scorer. From mastering the DBQ and LEQ in AP World History to nailing the Free Response Questions in AP Comparative Government, my sessions are laser-focused on what actually gets you points on exam day.

What you get with me:

1. Complete syllabus coverage aligned with the official College Board CED

2. Intensive DBQ, SAQ, LEQ, and FRQ writing practice with feedback

3. Simplified breakdowns of complex topics — from the Mongol Empire to China's political system

4. Proven exam strategies for time management and scoring higher

5. Flexible scheduling to suit students across any time zone — US, UK, Europe, Asia, or beyond

6. High-quality teaching at rates that are genuinely affordable compared to local tutors

Whether you are a student in New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, or anywhere else in the world, my goal is simple — get you to that 5.
No fluff. No confusion. Just clear teaching, smart practice, and real results.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I teach Social Science, which includes History, Political Science, Geography, and a bit of Economics. My interest in this field developed quite naturally during my school days. I was always curious about how societies function, why countries behave the way they do, and how past events shape our present. Over time, this curiosity turned into a genuine passion. Preparing for competitive exams like NDA, CDS, and AFCAT also strengthened my understanding and made me appreciate the subject even more deeply.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

Honestly, my biggest motivation has been the impact a good teacher can have on a student’s life. I’ve had teachers who made difficult topics feel simple and interesting, and that stayed with me. I wanted to create that same experience for others. Also, interacting with students and seeing them grow in confidence and understanding is something that keeps me going.
  • How does your work help society?

Social Science is not just about exams—it helps students become aware and responsible citizens. When students understand history, democracy, rights, and global issues, they start thinking critically. I believe teaching this subject contributes in a small but meaningful way towards building informed and thoughtful individuals in society.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is my father. He has been a big inspiration behind my journey into teaching. I have seen the way he teaches—with patience, clarity, and a genuine concern for his students—and I try to follow the same approach in my own classes. His way of explaining things simply and connecting with students has influenced me a lot.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside teaching, I enjoy creating notes and content in a more creative and student-friendly way (sometimes even adding humor or memes to make learning fun). I also like staying updated with current affairs, watching documentaries, and occasionally planning new ways to improve my teaching methods.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One moment that really stayed with me was when a student who used to find Social Science “boring” told me after a few months that it had become their favorite subject. It wasn’t because the subject changed—but because their approach towards it changed. That’s when I realized how much teaching is not just about content, but about making students feel connected to what they’re learning.
