About Celia
I have been giving lessons since 2014 and have worked with over 20 students. Through my favorite study techniques, students were able to increase their test scores, pay better attention in class and even teach material to other students. As a result, students see improvements in their final grades and consequentially their grade point average (GPA). This improvement in their GPA has allowed many of them to be rewarded (e.g. Dean's List) and gain entrance into honor societies (e.g. Alpha Chi, Tri Beta Honor Society).

I am an undergrad student finishing my last semester to complete a degree in the Biomedical Sciences. At school, I tutor my peers by relating the subject matter to well-known and understood examples. To increase retention, I coach my peers through repetition and other strategies such as mnemonics, songs, self explanation in ways they haven't heard, etc. I remind students to be patient with themselves, but to also be consistent and determined to understand. Through understanding, subject material becomes easier to remember and apply.

Perfect! Celia is the best! She has helped my daughter bring her grade up in Honors Anatomy to an A! She is very attentive, breaks things down in bite size pieces and really tunes in to how the student will best understand the info and retain it.
