About Tara
I’m a guitarist, composer, and educator with over 3 years of experience helping students discover their creative voice. With a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance (Contemporary Styles), I bring a balance of classical discipline and modern expression to my teaching. My lessons focus on compositional techniques, arranging, and creative exploration. I help students develop harmonic awareness and melodic fluency through guided improvisation. We also work on writing original music and recording simple demos. For advanced players, I introduce counterpoint and more complex harmonic ideas. My approach adapts to each learner’s musical goals and style. Whether you want to perform, compose, or simply enjoy making music, I’ll support your journey. In my guitar lessons, rhythm takes center stage. It’s the most powerful skill any guitarist can build. My teaching approach focuses on strumming clarity, picking dynamics, and groove control. We work across genres to understand how rhythm shapes each musical style. I teach through repetition, listening, and body awareness to make rhythm feel natural. Students learn to follow the beat internally and express it externally. My exercises strengthen coordination between both hands while maintaining relaxation. I offer tailored guidance and feedback every step of the way. The Fingerstyle Enthusiast learns independence and rhythmic nuance in their playing. The Worship Leader gains assurance and presence while performing. Each lesson builds musical precision and expressive control. I emphasize rhythmic phrasing as part of storytelling through guitar. You’ll soon notice how your playing feels smoother and more confident. Together, we’ll turn rhythm into your strongest musical asset.
