Depending on the student's level I adapt the lessons to what they need. We work on technique, warm-ups, scales, chords, music theory, songwriting, improvisation, and learning songs. I keep my lessons interactive and let every student sing what they love and discover their own sound and voice. The repertoire of work is of free choice. During the classes you can expect specific breathing exercises, vocalization, and the study of songs and interpretation. I teach every level, any style (not classical or opera) and all ages.

  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. My dad was a trumpet player and music producer, and our home was always filled with the sounds of Blues and Jazz. That environment sparked my love for music from an early age. I originally wanted to learn guitar, but my dad told me that if I learned how to sing, I’d be able to play any instrument I wanted — because singing is the only instrument you can’t see or touch. That idea stayed with me and made me fall in love with the voice as the most personal and expressive instrument of all. When we sing, we’re not just making music — we’re telling stories, sharing emotions, and connecting with others in a way words alone never could.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I could listen to Ray Charles, Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday, and Dizzy Gillespie on a loop without ever getting tired of them. Their music carries so much soul, emotion, and honesty that every time I listen, I discover something new. The phrasing, the storytelling, and the raw expressiveness in their performances constantly inspire me — they remind me why I fell in love with music in the first place
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

The most riveting course I could offer would be one that helps students discover their own voice through interpretation and storytelling. We’d go beyond technique, exploring phrasing, tone, and emotional connection. I love guiding students to understand that singing isn’t just about hitting the right notes — it’s about communicating meaning and feeling. Rhythm is the king, and through phrasing we can truly express our identity within a song. A challenging yet rewarding part of this course would be helping each student find their unique sound, learn how to tell their own story through music, arrange their own covers, and even create their own songs.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I believe the voice is one of the most complex instruments to master. Unlike other instruments, you can’t see or touch it, and you can’t easily observe what’s happening while you sing. When something goes wrong, it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly why. The voice is also part of our body, influenced by everything from our emotions to our physical health. That means vocalists must stay aware of their body mechanics and constantly adapt. Mastering the voice requires not only technical skill but also a deep sense of self-awareness and patience. It’s a lifelong journey — and that’s what makes it such a fascinating and rewarding instrument to teach and explore.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

My keys to success are dedication, patience, a proper personalized training routine, and continuous learning. Music is a lifelong journey, and there is always room for growth. I also believe in connecting with each student individually and understanding their unique voice, which keeps my approach both personal and effective. Passion, consistency, and authenticity are at the heart of everything I do — I encourage students to learn with curiosity, practice with intention, and perform with emotion. Success in music isn’t just about perfect technique; it’s about connection, storytelling, and allowing your individuality to shine through every note.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

If I could meet three musicians in my favorite bar in the early hours, I would choose Ray Charles, Dizzy Gillespie, and Michael Jackson. Ray Charles’ soulful energy and creativity would make every moment inspiring. Dizzy Gillespie’s virtuosity and playful spirit would bring laughter and excitement to the night. Michael Jackson’s artistry, innovation, and dedication to performance would make the evening unforgettable. I’d love to hear about their creative processes and how they brought such raw emotion into every performance. Being able to share music, stories, and experiences with these legends would be a dream come true.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

One of the most unforgettable moments from my music studies was when I had the chance to study with Barry Harris. One day, during a class, he didn’t like the song he had brought, so he decided to have a jam session — a very common thing in jazz. Almost all the students immediately stood up to perform, but I stayed seated, not realizing I was the only one left. Barry shouted for me to come to the front.

I chose to sing one of my favorite songs, 'God Bless the Child.' I was so nervous I was shaking and even forgot some of the lyrics. I remember thinking, 'What am I doing?' But when I finished, Barry stood up, hugged me, and told the class, 'This is why I mean when I say sing from your heart and tell a story — don’t try to copy what you know.'

That moment changed everything for me. I realized that each of us has a unique voice, a unique way of telling a story, and that improvisation and authenticity are far more powerful than imitation. His lesson shaped not only the way I sing but also the way I teach — encouraging students to find their own voice and tell their own story through music.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

The little touches that make me a Superprof in music are my focus on individuality. I prioritize each student’s personal goals and vocal health, blending technique with an understanding of their unique strengths and challenges. I make sure my classes are engaging and fun, incorporating elements that allow students to experiment with their voice while staying safe. I emphasize phrasing, rhythm, and emotional interpretation, not just hitting the right notes. I also share real-life experiences from my journey to inspire and motivate my students. My goal is not only to teach students to sing but to help them find joy, confidence, and their authentic voice."
