I'm Ali. I help engineering students and adult learners understand CAD assignments, technical drawings and design projects. Tell me your software and the step that is holding you up so we can identify a useful starting point.
My strongest areas are Engineering Drawing, SolidWorks and CATIA, which I studied formally alongside Aerospace Engineering at the Institute of Space Technology. My practical experience includes supporting AutoCAD learners and helping with a university aircraft-design project using SolidWorks.
I also offer selected support in Fusion 360, AutoCAD, BricsCAD and ArchiCAD. We match the lesson to your software version, current skills and requested task.

A sketch that will not fully define, a part that rebuilds incorrectly, an assembly that moves unexpectedly, or a drawing that will not plot properly: these are useful starting points for a lesson. Bring your brief and current attempt, even if it is unfinished. We work through the difficult step and the reasoning behind it.
Lessons suit beginners and intermediate learners, including engineering undergraduates, BTEC and diploma students, and adults developing practical CAD skills. Relevant school design-project software tasks are welcome too.
Your free first 60-minute lesson
We agree one achievable goal from your work, check your starting point and tackle a representative task. I explain and demonstrate the method, then guide you as you try it. We finish by reviewing the key steps and choosing your next practice task. Larger assignments and projects may need several sessions.
Engineering Drawing, coursework and design projects
Understand the brief, choose a sensible drawing or modelling sequence, and communicate geometry through views, sections and dimensions. Support can fit Engineering Drawing, Engineering Graphics, Computer Aided Drafting, Computer-Aided Design, CAD Modelling and Mechanical CAD modules. Mechanical and aerospace student projects are particularly relevant to my background.
We can review your approach, trace errors and explain improvements. You create your own drawings and models, understand your design decisions and remain responsible for assessed submissions.
SolidWorks: sketches, parts and assemblies
Sketch dimensions and relations, fully defined sketches, extruded and revolved features, cuts, fillets, chamfers, patterns and design intent. Introductory assembly work covers component positioning, basic mates and unexpected movement. Drawing practice includes views, sections and dimensions from your part or assembly.
CATIA: parts, drawings and introductory assemblies
Work through sketches, dimensions, constraints, part features and design intent. We examine how your model is constructed, identify the difficult step and practise a method you can repeat. Drawing and assembly support is matched to your module and software version.
AutoCAD: 2D drafting and technical drawings
Drawing units and scale, coordinates, object snaps, lines and polylines, trim, extend, offset and fillet. Organise layers and blocks; add dimensions, text and hatching; work with orthographic views and sections. We can also cover model space, paper space, layouts, viewports, plotting and PDF output.
Fusion 360, BricsCAD and ArchiCAD: selected task support
For these packages, describe the drawing or modelling step you need to understand. I confirm the specific task I can support before booking. My core teaching areas remain Engineering Drawing, SolidWorks and CATIA.
How online lessons help you progress
You operate your own software and share your screen. I explain, demonstrate and guide your practice; together we check the drawing or model. You keep your working file and a clear practice target. In continuing lessons, we review your attempt and build on it. You need access to the agreed software and version.

In your lesson request, include your software and version, what you need to create or fix, and any deadline. A short description is enough to start. I review the requested topic before accepting and confirm whether it fits; I will tell you if it needs a different specialist.

Details
£29 per 60-minute online lesson for the CAD topics and software scope we agree before booking. Your first 60-minute lesson is free and focuses on one representative task and a practical next step.
Optional packs: five hours £140 (£28/hour), or ten hours £270 (£27/hour). Individual lessons are available before you choose a pack.
Any additional preparation or work outside booked lesson time, including any fee, is agreed with you in advance. Software licences are not included; we confirm the software and version you can access before booking.
Superprof's Student Pass subscription is separate from my tuition. The free first lesson does not include or waive that subscription.
For lessons booked and paid through Superprof, cancellations more than 24 hours in advance receive a full refund. For later student cancellations, my saved policy retains 50% of the lesson fee and refunds 50%. I confirm this policy before booking.
