About John
Hello I'm JP Wilcox. I am a sophomore Mechanical Engineering student. I have extensive experience tutoring friends and eventually being hired as a peer tutor by College of DuPage. STEM courses didn't just click for me, but I think this gives me the empathy and experience to help guide you to find what study methods and approaches to take in math and science courses. I was taught the Socratic method of tutoring. I like getting a feel for your approach to solving a problem and trying to go from there rather than teaching an entirely new approach that will be difficult to remember on a test.
I think what sets me apart as a tutor is the fact I understand struggling with math. I've struggled with math and science and frequently rethought whether I should become an engineer. In the end, I found the best studying methods for me and went through all calculus and physics with a 3.5 GPA. I want to help you find your best way to study.
