• 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  1. I was born in Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, one of the states in southern Brazil. Thus, Portuguese has always been a very present language in my life.

• 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  2. As a current representative of Brazilian culture, Fernanda Torres stands out as one of the most significant artists in the country. She masterfully navigates theater, cinema, television, and literature. Her work reflects the complexity of Brazilian society, addressing themes such as relationships, daily life, aging, and cultural identity with intelligence and sharp humor.

• 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

  3. Brazilian Portuguese is full of unique expressions and linguistic traditions that reflect the country's vibrant culture. One expression that truly represents our culture is:
  "Jeitinho brasileiro" - More than just an expression, it is a cultural concept. It refers to the creativity and flexibility of Brazilians in finding solutions to everyday challenges.

• 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

  4. Portuguese is a part of my life. I can express myself through it. It is a form of cultural expression in Brazil and, therefore, a very valuable heritage.

• 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  5. The main difficulty in learning Portuguese for non-native speakers can be the complexity of the grammar and the various nuances of the language. To make the learning process easier, some tips include:
  
  Constant practice: Speaking, listening, reading, and writing every day are essential for learning.
  Immersion: Watching movies, listening to music, and podcasts in Portuguese helps internalize the language. Similarly, conversing with native speakers is crucial for improving fluency.

• 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

  6. One day, I was talking to a friend from another state and I said to her: "Bah, tu é uma baita pessoa! /Bah, you're such a great person!" She, trying to impress, replied: "Ah, eu sou muito baita mesmo" / Oh, I'm really great!".
  
  I looked at her, laughed, and explained: "No, 'baita' isn't used to say that you are a lot of something, it's used to say that something is big or really good! Like, a great barbecue, a great day!"

• 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

  7.Traveling is a great opportunity to learn more about a language, like Portuguese. Trips provide a complete immersion in the language because you live it and learn about the culture of the place.

  8. What makes me a Superprof in languages is my ability to explain in a simple way, adapting the teaching to each student's pace. I help with understanding grammar, expanding vocabulary, and practicing conversation in a light and effective manner.
